HARBIN, China, March 16 (UPI) -- Sixteen miners were rescued from an underground coal mine in northeastern China while four others remained trapped, rescue workers said.
The accident occurred at 5:20 p.m. Friday at the Junde Coal Mine in Heilongjiang province when a rock outburst occurred, China's Xinhua News Agency reported.

The rescued miners were hospitalized in stable condition, medical staff said.
Rescuers were trying to contact the other four trapped miners, Xinhua said.
