MOSCOW, March 9 (UPI) -- Authorities in Russia said Saturday they have recovered the body of a sixth teenager killed in an avalanche in eastern Siberia.

The avalanche occurred Wednesday on a remote mountain slope about 4 miles from the village of Mugur-Aksy.

Regional officials have declared a week of mourning for the boys, who were climbing the slope to plant flags, a local custom believed to bring good luck, RIA Novosti said.

Only one of the seven teens on the quest survived.
