Brit man dies weeks after store attack

LONDON, March 9 (UPI) -- A 60-year-old English widower injured in a pre-Christmas shopping rage incident has died, authorities said Friday.

Michael Buckley was hospitalized after a woman shoved a shopping cart into him in a branch of the popular department store chain Marks & Spencer, The Sun reported. The attack occurred Dec. 22 in a crowded shopping center in the London district of Bromley.

A few day after his hip and wrist were fractured, Buckley was in intensive care.

Witnesses said the woman apparently became enraged because Buckley was in her way. A 30-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and released on bail.

Police said they are waiting for autopsy results before deciding how to proceed. The death is being investigated by the Homicide and Serious Crime squad.
