LONDON, March 7 (UPI) -- Four men in ski masks used a Mercedes to carry out a smash-and-grab robbery and escaped with $15,000 in merchandise from a Gucci store in London, police said.

The robbers ransacked the flagship Kensington Gucci store and fled with bags and belts in a waiting Audi getaway car Wednesday, the London Evening Standard reported.

They led police on a high-speed chase through London, though officers lost them at Marble Arch, the newspaper said.

"Officers from Kensington and Chelsea CID are conducting the investigation," a police spokesman said. "There has been no arrests."

This is the fourth smash-and-grab robbery at the Gucci store in recent years.

A nearly identical robbery took place in October 2010 when five men used a Mercedes to crash into the Gucci store and escaped with merchandise on motorbikes.
