BEIJING, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- The teenage son of a well-known Chinese singer and four others are suspected of gang raping a woman they met at a bar, Beijing police said.

Li Tianyi, the 17-year-old son of renowned singer Li Shuangjiang, was detained along with the others after the woman reported the rape to police, China's officials Xinhua news agency reported.

Confirmation of his arrest came after a user on the Chinese equivalent of Twitter wrote a post saying a woman told police she was taken to a hotel and gang raped after drinking with some men in a bar.

It wasn't the first time that Li Tianyi's behavior made headlines.

In 2011, he and another teenager attacked a couple that reportedly blocked their driveway near the entrance of a residential community in Beijing.

The action sent him to a government correctional facility for a year.
