TUBA, Philippines, Feb. 22 (UPI) -- Seven people died in a collision between a bus and a 14-wheeler truck in Tuba, Philippines, Thursday night, officials said.

The bus was carrying students and teachers from Marinduque State College returning from a field trip. Those who died were all aboard the bus, and included teachers, students, a substitute driver and a tour guide, the Philippine ABS-CBN News reported Friday, which noted 32 people were injured in the collision.

Police said the bus was traveling down a hill on a highway at an excessive speed when it struck the truck.

Joel Bengua, the driver of the truck, said the bus was speeding, estimating the bus was traveling at 160 kilometers (100 miles) per hour at the moment of the accident.
