JERUSALEM, Feb. 22 (UPI) -- Palestinians threw stones at Israeli security forces at the Mughrabi Gate in Jerusalem after Friday morning prayers, officials said.
Firecrackers were thrown at security forces but officials restored order a few minutes later with the use of stun grenades, Ynetnews reported. Police said there were no injuries.
The protest was part of a series of demonstrations Friday in the West Bank that were called to express solidarity with Palestinian prisoners, including four hunger-striking administrative detainees, Ynetnews reported.
Dozens of Palestinians threw rocks at Israeli forces while demonstrating in the West Bank in Hebron. Additional clashes occurred in Nabi Saleh.
Two reporters suffered slight injuries in other riots in the West Bank, while a number of Palestinians were also wounded in the clashes, Ynetnews reported.
