KABUL, Afghanistan, Feb. 22 (UPI) -- A NATO soldier died Friday in a roadside bomb explosion in southern Afghanistan, the International Security Assistance Force announced.

"An International Security Assistance Force service member died following an improvised explosive device attack in southern Afghanistan today," the ISAF said in a statement.

The location of the incident and the nationality and identity of the dead service member weren't reported, Khaama Press said.

At least eight NATO service members have been killed in Afghanistan since 2012, Khaama Press reported. The dead include three U.S. troops and two British troops.
