NEW DELHI, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- An Indian woman whose daughter killed herself six months ago took her own life Friday, hanging herself from the same ceiling fan, police said.

Investigators said Anuradha Sharma's body was discovered at about 5:30 p.m. by her sister-in-law, The Pioneer reported. The New Delhi woman is believed to have returned home from work at 4:30 p.m.

Like her daughter, Geetika Sharma, Anuradha Sharma blamed her death on Gopal Kanda, a politician in the state of Haryana, and his aide Aruna Chaddha.

Kanda founded MDLR Airlines, where Geetika worked as a flight attendant.

P. Karunakaran, a deputy police commissioner, said Sharma left a suicide note saying she had been depressed since her daughter's death.

Geetika Sharma died Aug. 5, 2012. In her note, she said she had been subjected to lengthy harassment by Kanda and Chaddha.

Both men are now in the Tihar Jail charged with abetting Geetika's suicide. They deny any wrongdoing.
