CAIRO, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Israeli and Egyptian officials discussed security issues during a one-day meeting in Cairo, officials said.
The Jerusalem Post, citing Egyptian news media, said an Israeli delegation made up of four officials arrived in Cairo on a military jet Thursday and left that evening.
The al-Masreyoon website said they met with a group from the Egyptian General Intelligence Service with a source telling the site Raafat Shehata, the head of the service, led the talks.
The topics included the state of the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians, the alleged Israeli attack on Syria and the security situation in Sinai. The officials also were reported to have discussed a prisoner exchange in which Andre Pshenichnikov, an Israeli citizen detained after he was caught crossing into Egypt, would be returned in exchange for Egyptians held in Israel, al-Masry al-Youm said.
