NEW DELHI, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Kashmir was under curfew a second day Sunday to quell protests of the hanging of Mohammad Afzal Guru for a 2001 attack on India's Parliament, officials said.

At least three dozen people, including 23 policemen, were wounded in fighting between protesters and security forces after Guru's hanging Saturday, Press Trust of India reported.

Guru was sentenced to death by the Supreme Court in 2004 after being found guilty of planning the December 2001 Parliament attack carried out by five militants who killed nine people before they were killed.

Police and paramilitary personnel were in place in at-risk areas and no new violence was reported Sunday, PTI said.

Internet service also was down for the second day as a precaution and cable television outlets were not allowed to broadcast news channels. Newspapers also weren't published Sunday because of the curfew.
