SAINT-SEVERIN, Quebec, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- A 9-year-old Canadian boy found dead on an outdoor ice rink likely was killed when a hockey net fell on him, police said.

Two city workers in Saint-Severin, Quebec, discovered the boy Saturday morning and he was pronounced dead at a hospital, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported.

Provincial police said the boy, whose name wasn't reported, was mostly likely playing hockey alone about 9 a.m. when the accident occurred.
