BOGOTA, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- The U.S. Geological Survey said a magnitude 7.0 earthquake hit Colombia Saturday but officials said there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The quake occurred outside the town of Yacuanquer at mid-morning. It was centered far underground, which would lessen the shaking on the surface.

The USGS said the epicenter of the quake was 129.3 kilometers (80.3 miles) below the surface.
