ISAF did not reveal the number of people on board the aircraft or the location of the crash.

Khaama Press reported conflicting information about the NATO helicopter, saying it went down in Kapisa province.

Khaama Press reported local residents in the Tagab district as saying the helicopter crashed in the Gabri area and an unknown number of troops were killed or injured. Taliban militants claimed responsibility.

However, provincial security chief Mohammad Nawroz denied Taliban claims, saying the helicopter made an emergency landing because of technical issues, Khaama Press reported.
