JAKARTA, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Two employees at an Indonesian national park were attacked by a Komodo dragon after the lizard made its way into a park office, officials said.

A forest police officer, Ahmad Main, 50, was in the office when the 6.5-foot lizard made its way inside and attacked him, the Jakarta Globe reported Wednesday.

Ahmad tried to jump onto a chair to yell for help, but the Komodo dragon grabbed his leg, the Globe reported, adding Ahmad had been bitten by a crocodile in 2009.

The other park employee, Usman Li, 35, heard the screams and pulled the lizard off Ahmad, but the lizard turned on Usman, too, and bit his left leg, the Globe said.

Several park officers chased away the lizard.

The two injured men needed intensive treatment and were taken to a hospital in Bali, said Sustyo Iryono, the head of the park.

Usman got 42 stitches and Ahmad needed 41, the newspaper said.
