Fire sweeps through dorm in Iraq, kills 3

BAGHDAD, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Fire in a student dormitory at a technical school in the Kurdish region of Iraq Monday killed at least three people and injured 56, authorities said.

A statement from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan said two students and one worker at the Technical Institute in the Sulaimaniyah province in northern Iraq were killed, IraqiNews.com reported.

Information about what caused the fire was not reported.

An Emergency Services official said the injured students were taken to a hospital.
