Thai lotto player say game maybe rigged

BANGKOK, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Lottery ticket buyers in Thailand say the frequency with which numbers associated with Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra come up is becoming suspicious.

Since she took office in August 2011, seven winning lottery numbers have been numbers associated with Yingluck, usually numbers matching her license plates, the Bangkok Post reported.

Many lotto players say they believe the government is rigging the numbers to boost Yingluck's popularity.

"Though [the Government Lottery Office] insists winning numbers are not fixed, most betters do believe that there is illegal manipulation of lottery draws," said a 48-year-old lottery player identified as Nongkran.
