TEHRAN, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- A new single-seat bomber jet designed to evade radar detection is not intended as an offensive weapon, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Saturday.

The president unveiled the Qaher-313 at a ceremony celebrating the anniversary of the 1979 revolution that created the Islamic Republic, Press TV reported.

He said the bomber is not designed for "expansionism and aggression against other countries" but is a "deterrent" against possible action against Iran.

The jet was designed and made in Iran, Ahmadinejad said.
