West Midland Police said two men pulled the woman, 23, from her car in the Erdington area of Birmingham Wednesday afternoon. They drove off in the car, stopping to remove her two children, age 18 months and five years, at a roadside before continuing their getaway.
The children were unhurt but left alone, until found by a local man, the British Broadcasting Corporation reported.
"Thankfully they were back with her (the mother), unhurt, in just a matter of minutes. The mom was also unhurt," said Detective Sgt. Julie Woods of the West Midlands Police, adding a search for the car and the suspects is under way.
