ENJIL, Afghanistan, Jan. 31 (UPI) -- Afghan security officials said they found the body of an 11-year-old boy who was kidnapped two months ago for ransom.
The body of Ali Sina was found Wednesday in western Herat province in the Khesh-e-Pushtan area in Enjil district, Khaama Press reported.
Sina belonged to a wealthy family of prominent merchants. Security officials told Khaama Press the kidnappers had taken money from the family bur kept the child.
Authorities have arrested two women suspected involvement in the kidnapping, Khaama Press reported.
Kidnapping for ransom cases have increased dramatically across Afghanistan, particularly in the western provinces, the newspaper said.
