KITCHENER, Ontario, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Police are trying to identify a woman whose torso was found in a trash bin outside a Kitchener, Ontario, apartment building.

The torso was found about 11 a.m. Saturday wearing a T-shirt that read "Forget Princess, I want to be a Vampire," the Toronto Star reported.

Waterloo Regional Police said they received a call from someone who said they'd found human remains inside a trash bin in downtown Kitchener. When police arrived at the scene, they cordoned off a portion of a parking lot behind and beneath the building.

Waterloo Police Inspector Kevin Thaler said the investigation was in its "preliminary stages." The torso was sent to a Hamilton hospital for an autopsy and a search for the rest of the woman's remains was under way, police said.
