MANILA, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Seismologists in the Philippines warned more shaking was likely after an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted the Davao del Sur area Sunday.

The quake occurred in the early hours of Sunday and was centered southeast of General Santos City, GMA News said.

There were no immediate reports of damage, but the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake was tectonic in nature and would likely produce aftershocks.
