At least 13 dead in Afghan bombings

KABUL, Afghanistan, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- At least 13 people were killed and 28 hurt in separate suicide bombings Saturday in eastern provinces of Afghanistan, officials said.

Provincial security chief Gen. Mohammad Hussain said a suicide bomb attack in the Kulah-Sabz area of eastern Ghazni province killed at least three people and injured five others, Khaama Press reported.

At least eight people, including two police officers, were hospitalized with injuries.

At least 10 people were killed and 20 injured in a suicide blast Saturday afternoon in the northeaster city of Kunduz, the BBC reported.

The head of counter-terrorism and the chief of traffic police were among the dead, said the province's police chief.

No group immediately took responsibility for either blast.
