KARLSKRONA, Sweden, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Police said a 23-year-old French exchange student, who had been missing for two weeks in Sweden, has been found dead.

Samuel Babin was found in a wooded area around in Karlskrona Wednesday night, but police said they don't suspect foul play or criminal activity, despite their earlier suspicions.

Babin was last seen on Jan. 11 at the Blekinge Institute of Technology, the Swedish news agency TT said.

Police initially believed he had been kidnapped and launched an investigation, searching the camping area Babin liked to visit.

TT said another student from the school went missing in January 2012, and his body was discovered in a river in April.
