BORZINSKY, Russia, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Police in Russia said an East Siberian man has been charged with murdering his baby niece and then roasting parts of her in an oven.

The 34-year-old man allegedly killed the two-year-old girl after drinking with the child's mother in Russia's Transbaikal region, RIA Novisti said.

Police said the mother was visiting neighbors when the child was killed, and when she returned, she could not locate her daughter, who was later found dead in the oven.

Other body parts were also found in the kitchen, RIA Novosti said.

Police said the suspect, who only has two fingers, said the girl died after he pushed her and she struck her head.

He said he placed her body in the oven to try to cover up the crime, police said.
