TURIN, Italy, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- An arrest warrant was issued Monday for Italian paparazzo Fabrizio Corona, who was convicted of blackmailing celebrities with compromising photographs.

Corona fled Italy Friday, shortly before an appeals court confirmed his five-year jail sentenced, Italy's ANSA news agency reported.

Milan's Interpol mobile squad is leading the search for Corona, who will have an additional two years and 10 months added to his prison sentence for fleeing.
