4.7-magnitude quake shakes Taiwan

YILAN CITY, Taiwan, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- A 4.7-magnitude earthquake shook northeastern Taiwan Thursday, the China Earthquake Networks Center said.

The quake was centered about 20 miles southeast of Yilan City in Yilan County at a depth of about 5 miles, Chica's official Xinhua news agency reported.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or property damage.
