IRKUTSK, Russia, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- A train carrying coal in Russia's Irkutsk region derailed Saturday, killing two of the locomotive's crew, officials said.

At least 20 of the train's 60 cars derailed after the train collided with a single locomotive that was on the same track, RIA Novosti reported.

"According to initial information, the locomotive crew of two have been killed -- the driver and his assistant," the local Emergencies Ministry said.

Traffic along the train line was stopped, causing delays for a passenger train traveling from Novosibirsk to Vladivostok.

"Food and hot water have been supplied to [the passenger train]," the Emergency Ministry said.
