Skier dies in collision at Canada resort

FREDERICTON, New Brunswick, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- A skier in his 60s was killed Tuesday in a collision with a teenage girl at the Crabbe Mountain ski resort in New Brunswick, police said.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police Cpl. Chantal Farrah said the accident occurred about 11 a.m. local time at the bottom of a run.

"One skier died from his injuries at the scene and the other skier was taken to the hospital in Fredericton with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries," she said.

Crabbe Mountain President Leslie Wilson said both skiers were wearing helmets.

No other information about the skiers was available, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported.
