Plane carrying gold held in Istanbul

ISTANBUL, Turkey, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Officials said a Turkish cargo plane carrying 1.5 tons of gold has been held at Istanbul's airport for four days due to missing documents.

Hurriyet Daily News said the plane was carrying the gold from Ghana to Dubai, and arrived in Istanbul for refueling and a personnel change.

Hurriyet Daily News said some are claiming the plane was coming from Algeria and flying to another country.

The plane has been locked up and sealed due to security measures.
