GRENOBLE, France, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- A private plane crashed near the French resort city of Grenoble Saturday, killing five members of a family from Morocco, police said.

The twin-engine aircraft went down shortly after takeoff from village of Saint-Pierre-de-Bressieux, crashing in flames on the side of a hill.

There were no survivors and the cause of the crash was under investigation.

A source told Radio France Internationale the plane was registered in Morocco and was en route to the North African nation.
