LILLE, France, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- A group of 150 Russian tourists was stranded in France because their French-made plane broke down and a replacement part was unavailable, an official said.

The tourists were scheduled to leave Lille Thursday, ITAR-Tass reported Friday, but the pilot said the plane needed a part, which was unavailable in Lille.

Tourist Anna Chaplygina said tour operator DSBW reported the Tatar Airliners Airbus A319 had landed in France was unable to fly them home on schedule.

A Russian travel industry spokeswoman told RIA Novosti the replacement part had been sent to Lille and the tourists would be flown home Friday night.

Chaplygina said the airport gave them meals and put them up at a hotel.
