STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- A store manager in Stockholm was fined $1,540 for pouring urine over a woman he caught allegedly shoplifting in his store.
Police said the man, whose name was not released, caught a female shopper stealing items from his store, an Ica supermarket, and blocked the exit while waiting for police, The Local.se reported Friday.
Investigators said the woman relieved herself in a wastebasket when the man refused to allow her to use the rest room and the manager then dumped the contents of the wastebasket onto the woman.
The man told police he was "giving back what belonged to the woman," investigators said.
The man was convicted of assault and ordered to pay the woman $1,540 in damages.
