ADEN, Yemen, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- At least two Yemeni soldiers were injured Thursday in a grenade attack on an army post in the southeastern region of the country, a military official said.

Two home-made grenades were tossed from a moving car at the main gate of the 19th brigade in the Behan region of Shabwa Province, Xinhua reported.

Two service members were injured in the attack, which was believed to have conducted by al-Qaida militants, said a local military official who asked to remain anonymous.

Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula is heavily entrenched in the Yemeni provinces of Shabwa and Abyan.
