JERUSALEM, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Violent erupted for a second time this week when Israeli police raided a West Bank refugee camp Thursday looking for a Palestinian militant, officials said.
About 500 Palestinians demonstrated against the raid, some throwing stones and firebombs and burning tires in the streets, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported.
Two Palestinians were wounded. An elderly woman was taken to a hospital in Israel after she was bitten by an army-trained dog. A 23-year-old man was shot in the leg.
Israeli troops left after they determined the militant -- who was wanted on suspicion of involvement in terrorist activities -- was not home.
Clashes broke out this week in the northern West Bank village of Tamoun when undercover border police arrested a wanted man. Residents threw rocks and bottles at police, who responded with tear gas and rubber bullets.
