Nine dead at Colombia holiday party

MEDELLIN, Colombia, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Police in Medellin, Colombia, said five men and four women were massacred at a holiday party in the town of Envigado.

La FM reported the nine were apparent victims of gunshots.

Colombia Reports said the region, known for the drug trade, recently has seen a sharp increase in homicides.
