MOSCOW, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- A flight attendant died of injuries suffered when a Russian airliner skidded off a Moscow runway and caught fire, the airline said Sunday.

The woman's death at a hospital raised the toll of fatalities in Saturday's crash of the Red Wings Airline Tu-204 airliner to five with three co-workers in grave condition.

The eight people aboard the jet were all airline employees. The pilot was among those killed.

Red Wings said Sunday it would cover the medical and funeral expenses for the victims and also pay a sum of 1-2 million rubles ($3.3 million-$6.5 million) to their families, Russia's ITAR-Tass news service said.

The plane was landing at Moscow's Vnukova airport Saturday when it apparently overshot the runway, broke into pieces and caught fire on a highway adjacent to the field.

Pilot error has been suspected in the crash. Russia's RIA Novosti news agency said the plane's flight recorders had been recovered and turned over to government investigators.
