13 die in Nepal bus crash

KATHMANDU, Nepal, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- A passenger bus ran off a road in Nepal Friday, killing at least 13 people and injuring 19 others, authorities said.

The Press Trust of India reported the accident occurred in Surkhet district about 400 miles west of Kathmandu.

The bus was en route to Birendranagar from Gumi village when it veered off the road.

Police said five of the injured passengers were listed in serious condition, PTI said.
