Fire damages 8 businesses

EDMONTON, Alberta, Dec. 26 (UPI) -- A major fire in Edmonton, Alberta, left eight businesses damaged, officials said.

The fire broke out at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday after a pickup truck drive through the front window of a Bonanza restaurant in a strip mall in Edmonton, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported. It is unclear what happened to the driver of the pickup truck.

The fire spread quickly from the restaurant to neighboring businesses, damaging eight in total.

An estimated $12 million in damage was reported.
