Bomb deactivated outside Spanish brothel

Dec. 25, 2012 at 3:04 PM   |   Comments

LA JONQUERA, Spain, Dec. 25 (UPI) -- A bomb found in a car outside a La Jonquera, Spain, brothel was deactivated before it could explode, officials said.

Four men, armed with machine guns and wearing disguises, pulled up to the Paradise brothel in two cars early Tuesday morning, advised security staff of the bomb in one car and drove away in the second, a security guard said.

Motorcyclists hurled bombs at the same business two weeks ago, the website ThinkSpain reported, noting officials suspect the incidents involve settling of scores over drugs or rival prostitution outlets, rather than organized terrorist attacks.

Paradise is considered a "VIP brothel" on the France-Spain border with as many as 200 sex workers on duty, and is frequented largely by French customers, the website said.
