  |   Dec. 23, 2012 at 5:33 PM
KABUL, Afghanistan, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- A fire that spread across a market in the Afghan capital of Kabul burned down at least 600 shops, officials said.

No one was injured in the fire, the BBC reported Sunday. However, the fire destroyed much of the goods on sale.

Afghan firefighters, police and NATO forces battled the blaze.

There was no indication that the fire was started by a bomb attack, the report said.
