CARTEGENA, Colombia, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- Police in Cartagena, Colombia, said they seized a truck carrying 1.5 tons of cocaine bound for Honduras and eventually the United States.

The truck driver, Alexander Valencia Enrique Navas, was arrested as he was delivering the container to Cartagena's maritime terminal, El Universal reported.

Officials said the driver would be charged with possession and trafficking of narcotics.

Police said they were investigating whether any terminal employees were involved in the shipment.

The cocaine has an estimated value of $5 million, officials said.
