KABUL, Afghanistan, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- The Taliban took responsibility for a bomb at a U.S. construction contractor building in Kabul Monday that left two dead and a dozen injured, officials said.

Sediq Sediqqi, spokesman for the Afghan Interior Ministry, said a small truck filled with explosives drove to the Contrack International compound around 10:30 a.m. and detonated.

The explosion damaged several buildings, shattering windows and collapsing at least one roof at the compound.

The area houses several coalition, Afghan military and government compounds, as well as construction companies, Stars and Stripes reported.

The nationalities of the dead and injured weren't reported.

Contrack is a McLean, Va., company and does U.S. military work in Afghanistan, including the construction of a fuel storage system at Bagram Airfield, the company's website said.
