CAIRO, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- Egyptian prison officials said ousted President Hosni Mubarak fell in the bathroom of his hospital room and suffered a head injury.

Mubarak, 84, is serving a life sentence in Cairo's Tora prison for his compliance in the killing of protesters during the country's 2011 uprising, al-Masry al-Youm reported.

Egypt's state news agency MENA reported Saturday that while Mubarak was in his hospital room's bathroom, he slipped and suffered a head injury and bruising.

Mubarak has been suffering from health problems since he was sentenced.
