Karachi streets empty day after gunfire

KARACHI, Pakistan, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- Streets in Karachi, Pakistan, were largely empty Saturday, the day after unidentified youths peppered the city with sporadic gunfire, Dawn News reported.

Gunfire also was reported Friday in Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas.

Dawn News said Karachi had a deserted look Saturday, when most public events were canceled, shops were closed and most public transportation was idled. The annual election of the Karachi Bar Association was pushed back to Dec. 19.
