KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- A roadside explosion in southern Afghanistan's Kandahar province killed at least two Afghan civilians and injured at least two others, local authorities said.

The explosion took place in the Ghorak district of southern Kandahar province Saturday evening, Khaama Press reported.

Ghorak District Chief Haji Pacha Khan said a civilian vehicle struck a roadside bomb, killing at least two people and injuring two others.

No group has taken responsibility for the incident, Khan said, but local officials blame the Taliban.
