LINCOLN, England, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Four people have been killed by trains this week in central England, three of them in Lincolnshire, the most recent a 14-year-old boy, police said Thursday.

The teenager was hit by a high-speed train at a pedestrian crossing in Lincoln shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday, the Daily Mirror reported. Police reportedly said he might have taken his own life.

The deaths began Monday when Robert Poole, 51, of Bingham in Nottinghamshire was found near a bridge in Grantham. On Tuesday, Scott Dobson, 26, a railway employee from Doncaster, was hit by a train near Lincoln.

Emma Lifsey, 4, of Haxey in Lincolnshire was killed Wednesday at a level crossing near Finningley in Nottinghamshire. She was a passenger in a car driven by her grandmother, who was injured in the crash.
