ARUSHA, Tanzania, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Tanzanian police say they arrested a street youth in a fatal machete attack on a Canadian woman who had helped him while on previous missions to the country.

Susan Wells, 41, of Collingwood, Ontario, was killed last week while on her sixth trip to help poor children in the East African country. Her body was found Wednesday in a field outside Arusha. Regional police Cmdr. Liberatus Sabas said the murder weapon was a machete.

The officer said investigators suspect Joseph Kimaro picked up Wells at the airport Nov. 26.

Sabas told the CBC News Wells' body would be returned to Canada and formal charges were expected to be brought soon against Kimaro.
