BAGHDAD, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- Car bombings in three Iraqi cities Thursday killed at least 35 people, officials said.

Twin car bombings in Babel resulted in at least 31 people being killed and 120 people injured, security officials told IraqiNews.com.

Explosives in two other cars parked near a trade chamber in Babel's Shawi neighborhood were detonated earlier, killing and injuring an unknown number of people, IraqiNews.com said.

In Mosul, a police officer and a civilian were killed and two other people were injured when a car bomb exploded, officials said.

"A car bomb that was parked at a roadside blew up [near] a police patrol, resulted in [the] killing [of] a policeman and [injury to] two others in [the] Karama neighborhood of eastern Mosul," a security official said. "The explosion also led to [the] killing [of] a civilian who was ... near the incident spot."

Two people died and 20 others were injured in a car bomb explosion in Karbala, a health official said.

The blast occurred near the center of the city, the Karbala Health Department director said.
