KABUL, Afghanistan, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- A NATO drone has crashed in Afghanistan's western Harat province, local officials said.

Provincial security head Abdul Hamid Hamidi said the International Security Assistance Force drone crashed Tuesday in the Taliban-controlled Pashtun Zarghoon district, Khaama Press reported Wednesday.

Hamidi said the drone was photographing the area when it went down.

The local security chief said an investigation was under way to determine the reason for the crash.

Also Wednesday, Afghan and coalition security forces arrested a local Haqqani leader in Khost province, the ISAF said. Coalition forces said the captured leader was in charge of acquiring and distributing weapons and ammunition to insurgents operating in the province.

Several other militants were captured and weapons were seized, the ISAF said.
